Testimonial from Scott Dakota:
Machina 2 Deluxe Germanium Hybrid Fuzz, by Fuzzimp
FX of Oregon!
I'd been eyeing this one for a while now, so with the holiday sale, had to jump. This is an original advanced fuzz design by Justus Gash, and it's a veritable mad scientist laboratory of diverse fuzz timbres, textures, and feels. Can do many flavors of slightly simmered and scuffed, all the way out to many varieties of crushing apocalyptic destructo doom weirdness. And has serious output level on tap when needed. Can crush any next input stage to its knees when required.
Plus, the case art looks amazing, sets serious vibes of a sort motivational for creative exploration and expression.
The knob and switch arrangement and case art are simultaneously evocative of both archaic alternate timeline industrial feels, and arcane incantory ritual sigil intoning, suitable for the serious bearded and hooded power fuzz wizard set. And would fit equally well in industrial, goth, darkwave, steampunk, punk, indie, underground aesthetic contexts. And in stoner doom fuzzstival context as well, obviously.
This pedal line are all designed and hand built one by one by Justus, and the quality of craft is superb across the board. I've already opened it up and looked around closely, and the solder work is neat and precise and professional, as is the peb and wiring and overall assembly. Parts selection is great, all quality stuff, no corners cut. It's rugged, ready for stage or studio.

Hand selected vintage Soviet era NOS germanium transistors in this one, although it's going to vary any time one orders, depending on what's coming through for sourcing NOS germanium, ever harder to get good ones.
The Machina 2 contains two germanium transistors, four silicon transistors, and various diodes. No opamps, this is all-discrete and lively and super touch responsive in the classic old school style, but modernized and highly flexible. True bypass, chunky rugged switches.
I am beyond thrilled with this underground indie cool centerpiece fuzzer, plus it really makes a striking visual statement. Add to that: Justus is a genuinely good and caring person, holds himself to very high standards of craft excellence, and has superb communications about inquiries, and with clients. A+++ highly recommended, will certainly be back.
Plus, matches our cats well. That's Moon in the gif. The leopard boys always thoroughly inspect all new incoming packages. They love fuzz as much as any of us.
The Original Machina was a precursor to the Creature pedal with two circuits that worked in tandem for rich sounds. The Creature pedal was both Machina circuits in series with SMT assembly and is still available to order and remarkably consistent.
Germanium transistors and all “through hole” construction and mechanical True Bypass switching. Basically. This is a fuzz done the old school way in limited small batches. It also is a LARGE form factor (1590XX) to make it easier to freely use all the knobs and toggles.
The extra controls on both modes allow fine tuning control and the toggles engage a NOS germanium transistor for either side for big tonal shifts and vintage warmth.
